There are differences between Mejia and Vargas

Hipolito Mejia and Miguel Vargas Maldonado expusierion yesterday positions contrary to the formation of the high courts.

As candidate of the PRD, Hipólito Mejía, felt that the selection of judges was seriously affected the independence of the judiciary, its President, Miguel Vargas, considered that the institutionalization of the country was strengthened with the election of new judges and that the PRD recognizes the quality professional and personal of the majority of the judges evaluated, including many who were not selected.

"It's a step forward in the direction of strengthening our democratic institutions," declared Vargas in brief written statements sent to the media, where further considered that the National Judiciary Council (NJC) complied to its constitutional mandate and its regulation.

Mejía but sent a press statement which said that the results in the selection of u000athe judges are "highly disturbing", indicating that seriously affected the independence of the judiciary and democratic institutions of the country.

Said that place in them main bodies of the justice to a majority of followers of Al President Fernández, to control them, tramples on the principle of impartiality.
