La of the United Nations High Commissioner for human rights, Navi Pillay, said "deeply disappointed" yesterday "the failure of United States to close the Guantánamo prison".
Pillay regrets "the failure to find those responsible for major human rights violations, including torture, that took place there".
"I call to the United States Congress to take measures enabling the US Administration to close the Guantánamo Bay detention centre," said Pillay, and added that United States should also respect the principle according to which no one should be sent to a country where they could be tortured.
