They celebrate the 156 years of battle

Viewed 14 times.As part of the commemoration of the 156 anniversary of the battle of Santomé, representatives of the community of San Juan de la Maguana will attend this Thursday at 10: 00 in the morning to the National Pantheon to lay a wreath at the remains of general José María Cabral y Luna, who led the heroic Geste.
The Standing Committee for the commemoration of the battle of Santomé invited citizens to support the activities undertaken by this December 22, in recognition of the epic that occurred in San Juan de la Maguana, in the year 1855.
In view of LISTÍN DIARIO, Eduardo Dauhajre and Raúl García, Member of the Commission, pointed out that they are 26 years celebrating the anniversary of the battle, on the grounds that it was a gesture that consolidated the national independence and that there was more than a thousand deaths.
Raúl García invited the citizens of San Juan de la Maguana to participate enthusiastically in activities that u000athey will be, both in the National District and province. "Can not forget the patriotic events because there lies the honour and the national virtues", said.
The community of San Juan has made this celebration a tradition.
