Four men with AK-47 rifles killed eight peasants, including four children, in the Atlantic Honduras, they informed the authorities.

Men arrived Tuesday night in the village of Regaderos, about 450 kilometers to the North of Tegucigalpa, pulled out of their homes to the victims and took them to a nearby palm plantation. Regaderos belongs to the province of colon, on the Honduran Atlantic.

"Some bodies had cut his ears", told The Associated Press the police of the area, Chief subcommissioner Osmín Bardales.

The victims were of the same family and among them is a child of a year and three girls of 7, 12 and 15. The other four were two men and two women. They were all natives of the province of Copán, West of Honduras and bordering Guatemala, and from u000aSeptember lived in Regaderos.

Bardales reported that "we investigate thoroughly the case". However, the police has not stopped to any suspect.

Regaderos is in the fertile valley of Aguán River, where thousands of peasants demanding five years more than 20,000 hectares of African Palm in power of agricultural entrepreneurs. The conflict has not been able to be resolved by the Government of President Porfirio Sosa.

The dispute has so far caused the deaths of some 40 peasants and 20 security guards private to protect the landowners.

According to the Observatory of the violence of the National Autonomous University, in 2011 in Honduras there were 82 deaths for every 100,000 inhabitants, when the global rate is barely 8.2. For this reason, Honduras is considered one of the most violent countries in the planet.
