Following a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the brand new Italian premier Mario Monti, Sarkozy said that "proposals for the amendment of the treaties" will be presented shortly.
Not clarified what would those changes, but said that they will be subject to the next European Summit meeting scheduled for the December 9.
Was the first meeting of the three leaders since the Monti assumed the post last week after the recent fears of markets by huge sovereign debt Italy.
The meeting in the French city of Strasbourg took place between evidence that Germany and France - the two most important economies of to the u000aeurozone - are not immune to the crisis that pushed already Greece, Ireland and Portugal to apply for credits of rescue.
The three leaders stressed that they will do everything possible to stabilize the situation and save the euro.
"We want the euro, we want a strong and stable euro... will do anything to defend it", insisted Merkel.
France has been reluctant to change the EU treaties to improve the way in which the eurozone countries cooperate and agree measures to avoid future crises.
