Legislators in Puerto Rico have been accused of corruption, consumption of cocaine and violence, which has earned them the scorn of a public already already furious by the bad economic situation and crime rampant on the island.

The public will now have the opportunity to do something about. Is them is asking the voters of this American territory if they wish to amend its Constitution and lay off dozens of members of the Senate and House of representatives, which would cut costs and reduce the size of the legislature in almost 30%

But perhaps now Puerto Ricans have more reasons to complain, given the number of scandals that involve legislators and their higher salaries than those of most of his American colleagues.
