They seize SCJ 259 orders extradition
posted on: Nov 28 2011 8:11 by RDugey. Viewed 33 times.The House criminal of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) has been empowered 259 requests for the extradition of Dominicans, since 2004, when conferred the power to decide on such requests, until the 31 of October of this year.
Of all requests for extradition, the Criminal Chamber of the SCJ conceded 39 and declined 17. While 12 were withdrawn by the country that requested and 10 were not known because the required had already been extradited by the Executive Branch, which had this power before 2004.
The remaining 111 applications did not come to be known by the SCJ, because people requested in extradition decided to go voluntarily to the country which required. Until the 31 of October, the Criminal Chamber of the SCJ was pending and in the process 70 records of requests for extradition.
Since the beginning of November, the Court has granted several requests and continued with the u000aknowledge of others.
Most of the requirements for extradition are made by United States.
Above, the power to decide on requests for extradition corresponded to the Executive Branch did decree empowered by law 489 of the first of October 1969, which established the procedure to follow.
