El Centro monetary Latinoamericano (Cemla); and the World Bank and inter-American Development (IDB), through the Multilateral Fund of investments (Fomin), launched today live a virtual tool comparison of prices for Central America, remittances which also includes to Rd.

Tool and an analysis of prices for the six Central American countries, will be presented during a breakfast meeting at the Club of national press in Washington, D.C., with the participation of Paloma Monroy, Cemla remittances program coordinator; Natasha Bajuk, specialist in MIF remittances, and Felipe Jaramillo, director for Central America of the World Bank.

The meeting will be held in u000aSpanish with simultaneous translation into English.

Meeting breakfast to launch comparison tool online prices for remittances to Central America and Dominican Republic, will be presented also an analysis based on this new instrument of public service.

The tool, created to provide greater transparency in the market of remittances to Central America and Dominican Republic, provides information about the cost of the service provided by various suppliers, including tariffs and costs of exchange rate, according to an invitation from the IDB.

"This way those who send and receive remittances can make better decisions about how to send money to relatives in their countries of origin", says the report.

Only in the last quarter of 2011, Central American and Dominican immigrants in United States spent more than $200 million in fees and commissions to submit resources for their u000afamily.

Recently a report about sending money to Latin America show that the region played close to $60,000 million in remittances during the year 2010. Also, preliminary reports speak of that December 2011 the amount of remittances to the region grew 7%.
