The Ministry of Tourism will  assume responsibility for the completion of the sewerage system in 28 districts of Puerto Plata city with funding from the Executive Committee for Infrastructure in Tourist Areas (CEIZTUR), said the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Cesar Jose De Los Santos.

Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia has ordered an assessment of the work needed to complete the sanitation project in order to allocate the necessary funds, estimated at more than RD$100,000,000.

He also announced the start of the new Malecon Amphitheater, explaining there had been many meetings with engineers and architects to analyze this project to get the best value for the money invested in its construction. Instructions have now been issued to the architects who won the international tender process.

The minister confirmed that the tender process for construction also applied to the design stage in line with new laws governing transparency in the allocation of public funds.
