Trafficking in children in Mexico: four children have been abused
posted on: Jan 19 2012 12:40 by RDugey. Viewed 14 times.Four of the 10 children placed in custody in the western part of Mexico as part of an investigation by child trafficking involving Irish couples show signs of abuse, reported on Wednesday an official Mexican.
The general Procurator of Jalisco, Tomás Coronado, said minors were examined by doctors but offered no further details. The ages of the children are between two months and two years.
"Four with symptoms that were (sexually) abused in a way maybe not very violent but with symptoms that may be the matter (of abuse)", said crowned to reporters. He added that he cannot give details because the investigation is ongoing.
He said that at least 11 Irish couples are involved in the case.
Fifteen Irish citizens spoke with the authorities, said Lino Gonzalez, spokesman for the State Attorney.
Foreign couples gave 1,200 u000apesos (188 dollars) per week for mothers during pregnancy, paid medical care and also paid to mothers for allowing that the children to stay with them for 15, 20 or 30 days, said Coronado.
"The vast majority of the of Ireland that have declared mentioned that it was the Protocol for adoption here in the State, which was part be paying amounts of money and that obviously is profiting in the passage of the adoption before it prefigured, said Coronado.
Researchers are trying to determine if couples "acted with malice," noted.
The Irish in Mexico Embassy said in a statement that will give advice consular to the couples involved.
Three women already were arrested in the city of Guadalajara linked with alleged network trafficking in minors.
