Tragic end to Carnival - 1 dead

The Carnival in Santo Domingo ended tragically on Sunday with one dead, thirteen injured and fifty arrests.
Police reports said the dead man, Joel Vicioso, 19, was stabbed repeatedly by unknown assailants during a fight.
Among the wounded was Joel Julin Candelario, 20, who was admitted to hospital with a bullet wound to his right leg.
It was reported that Candelario was shot by an unidentified man who pulled a gun in the crowd gathered on the malecon to watch the parade.
In a separate incident, a man dressed in military uniform attempted to join the parade in a vehicle with DNCD insignia. When his passage was blocked, he started a fist fight with police and was arrested.
