Two new firms established in Puerto Plata Free Trade Zone

Two new businesses are to open in the Puerto Plata Free Trade Zone. One is a biodiesel company and the other in interior design.
The President of the Free Zone Corporation of Puerto Plata, Lowesky Luciano said that the park now had a total of nine companies operating there. These included textile operations and call centers employing, in total, about 1000 people.
He acknowledged that the Free Zone had not led to a jobs boom in Puerto Plata but said that it was faring better than others in the country.
Luciano confirmed that discussions were continuing with Canadian entrepreneurs who are interested in setting up a window installation business.
