UN investigating two cases of abuse

The UN in Haiti (MINUSTAH) Stabilization Mission reported on January 16 of the cases that occurred in Port-au-Prince and in the town of Gonaives, and a team of agency departed last weekend to investigate the allegations, according to the press spokesman of the United Nations, Martin Nesirky.
It's two allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse of children", one against police officers of the UN who have their base in the capital and another against"one or more members"of the police force of the organism in Gonaives, in the North of Haiti.
"Accused agents have been parts of its functions to reduce any contact with the local population as long as the research", u000aHe explained Nesirky, who avoided providing information on the nationality of the alleged perpetrators of the abuses.
Accusations are "outrage" for United Nations, as added the spokesman for the Agency, which stressed that the UN is facing "extremely serious" its responsibility of studying the allegations.
Spokesman also said that already reported them to the countries of which they are citizens police officers, although he stressed that, unlike cases of abuse that involved military personnel, the response to the allegations about police personnel is 'responsibility to United Nations'.
"La MINUSTAH will take steps to support the alleged victims," added Nesirky.
