University suspends pepper to his police Chief by use of gas

In a statement, the institution authorities said that it was necessary to suspend the police chief Annette Spicuzza in order to restore confidence and calm tensions following the Suppression of the Friday against a contingent of "Ocupemos UC Davis" and that resulted in 10 arrests.
University campus also suspended two officers. The various videos broadcast on the internet clearly show a policeman dressed in their riot gear when he sprayed pepper to a row of interlocking demonstrators of the arms and were sitting peacefully.
Spicuzza said that the second officer was identified during a review of several videos.
On Sunday, the President of the system of the u000aMark Yudof, University of California, said he was "horrified" by the images that the protesters were sprayed with pepper.
Yudof said that it is preparing an assessment of police procedures in all the 10 institutions of UC.
"Freedom of expression is part of the DNA of this University, and non-violent expressions have been long central part of our history," said Yudof, who heads the 10 campuses in the UC system. Yudof said that it was not his intention to "manage to detail our police forces in the universities", but pointed out that the 10 guiding will meet soon to discuss "measures to ensure a proportional police reaction to a non-violent protest".
