"Interrogated" by the Naval Criminal investigation service but "are detained," said the source, AFP requested anonymity to avoid interference with the judicial investigation under way, and who did not specify the place in which took place this procedure.
The amateur video shows four soldiers of United States that they urinate on three bodies of alleged Afghan insurgents bloodied, aware of being being recorded.
The two respondents soldiers belong to a unit of snipers of the third battalion of the second Regiment of the Marines, based at Camp Lejeune in the (United States East) North Carolina State.
This unit was u000adeployed in the North of Helmand province (in the South-West of Afghanistan) between March and September 2011, period in which "no doubt" were filmed images, explained the military responsible for
"We hope to be able to identify the other two" soldiers, which were apparently moved from Camp Lejeune, he added.
The four suspects could be subject to a court martial for violating the code of military justice, as well as the Geneva Convention, which establishes that the bodies of the killed enemies must be treated with respect.
