Vaccine against rotavirus in April

The vaccine against rotavirus, disease that causes severe in infants, diarrhoea will begin to apply in the country's massively from next April, revealed yesterday the Minister of public health, Bautista Rojas Gomez.

Also said that the vaccine against pneumococcal bacteria that causes meningitis, otitis media, pneumonia and other diseases, will continue this year to apply to people with special conditions, but that, from 2013, the goal is entering the regular vaccination program.

He explained that of rotavirus will be introduced during the day of vaccination of the Americas this year.

"We are committed to that in April we started massively vaccinated against rotavirus, even are going to take advantage of the week of the vaccination in the Americas as a scenario that has given much result in the region, to enter en masse", said Rojas Gómez.
