Violence leaves 104 dead infants

A total of 104 children were murdered by their parents or mothers since the beginning of 2011, reported Sunday the Observatory on crime of the Attorney General of Peru.
The report was made then that local media placed the child abuse in the news agenda after reporting during the week the murder of a 9 year old girl at the hands of his mother, who killed her to beatings.
"51% (Of victims) had between 13 and 17 years, 31.7% age of 6 years and 17.3% had between 7 and 12 years," said John Huambachano, Manager of the Observatory criminal in an interview on the television.
Added that in most cases the Prosecutor's Office found that parents "have a concept of ownership over their children and why punish them physically and psychologically assault".
The children were mostly beaten and asphyxiated. There was also stabbed, shot and poisoned. Dr. Freddy Vasquez, expert in cases of u000aFilicide, told a weekly magazine that there are "two types of filicidas: that under despair kill and those who tortured without mercy and kill.
