Water crisis

The period of drought was present as usual, declining water production in 76 million gallons of water per day.
This situation has become normal in the absence of rainfall between the months of January and may; but was the result of the passage through the country from Hurricane Irene when the situation intensified.
Domestic water production has decreased by half by the departure of Haina-Manoguayabo, La Isabela and systems Duey Isa Mana.
The population of the greater Santo Domingo is served with some 389 million gallons of water by day.
