Weekly conjugal visits for women prisoners

As of Sunday , the inmates of the Women's prison at Najayo will be allowed two hour conjugal visits with their partners once a week. 
Six cells in the prison have been set aside for the purpose and the program has been authorized by the Attorney General.
The question of conjugal visits for women prisoners has been a desire expressed for many years and the new venture follows a prolonged study. It is expected that the program will extend to other prisons across the country.
The marital cells were opened during a ceremony led by Roberto Santana, national coordinator of the Model Prison Management and Patricia Lagombra, director of the Najayo center.
