Who won the election? DominicanCentral is the first to report the results
posted on: May 17 2010 1:6 by The Reporter. Viewed 494 times.As results streamed in late Sunday night, it was clear the election was very much a two horse race between the PLD (currently in power) and the PRD.
The PLD won in virtually every region, averaging around 10-20% more votes than the PRD.
The other parties featured relatively unsignificantly, generally picking up less than 1% of the votes between them.
Across most of the regions, the PLD averaged early 50's percentage wise with the PRD picking up late 40's
Noticable differences were Perdenales and San Jose de Ocoa, where the PRD won, and Valverde where the PLD's lead was just over 1%.
In Santiago, the PLD had a bigger margin at 57.21% to the PRD's 37.98%.
The Puerto Plata region followed the norm with the PLD taking over 50% of the votes.
Other parties repesented by the votes were MIUCA, PRI, PRSD, ASD and the DXC.
Santo Domingo PLD 55.2 PRD 43.56
Valverde PLD 50.30%, PRD 49.05%
San Jose de Ocoa - PLD 48.09%, PRD 51.59%
