In all, nine lawyers, equivalent to 26 per cent of the charges, were selected for the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) and the Constitutional Tribunal (TC).
Although the representation for the Supreme remained equal, with the appointment of five women lawyers, the TSE declined. This well, because the camera litigation of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), exercising the same functions that now correspond to the TSE, had two women, but to the TSE NJC only selected a woman of the five counts that correspond. The designation went to the lawyer Mabel Féliz, President of the National Council of drugs (CND).
La camera litigation included female lawyers Aura Celeste Fernandez, who now was not chosen for any of the u000acourts, although she wanted and was evaluated in public hearings by the CNM, and by pineapple Margarita Leyda, who was appointed in the TC.
The only TSE is new as a court independent of the JCE and its members are appointed by the NJC. The attribution of appointing the members of the litigation House corresponded to the Senate of the Republic.
The functions of the Tribunal are those that correspond to the litigation Chamber, which had already exhausted two periods knowing cases contenciosos-electorales, since it was created in 2002 following an amendment to the electoral law 275-97, which divided the Centrral Electoral Board in two chambers, an administrative and other contentious matters.
Constitutional
the Constitutional Tribunal (TC) is recent training. It was included in the Constitution with the reform to the Constitution, promulgated on 26 January 2010. The representation of women is from 23 per cent in that Court. Three were chosen for the TC u000awomen, aged between 13 members with that body. Appointments are from Leyda Margarita pineapple, Ana Isabel Bonilla and Katia Miguelina Jimenez.
pineapple was a member of the antigua litigation Chamber of the JCE and was one of the lawyers who joined the Committee which drafted the first reform of the Constitution.
Bonilla was a member of the Dominican Liberation Party by Santiago. Meanwhile, Jiménez is judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of appeal of the National District.
The NJC was sworn to the members of the High Court last Wednesday, during a ceremony held at the National Palace, who did not attend the Jorge Subero Isa, former President of the SCJ, chosen in principle to integrate such a tribunal, position he did not, not be ratified as President
